About Lucinda Ping Cowing (Writer, Editor)

Lucinda “Ping” Cowing is a writer, editor and translator (and amateur photographer), who recently came back to Kyoto after completing her degree at SOAS, U. of London. She is Multimedia Editor for Kyoto Journal, a respected non-profit publication on Asian culture. She is also currently involved in setting up the HUB in Kyoto which, in short, is a community that enables collaborative ventures for positive social change, due to open in May 2013. In addition to being a Chinese Opera and tea fan, Ping has a particular enthusiasm for camels, facts about which she says can be used to liven up dinner parties. Her dream, besides opening her own ceramics gallery, is to explore the Silk Road with her own herd of bactrians.

You might be able to catch Ping playing French Horn along the Kamogawa in the warmer months.

Ping will be giving guided tours of the fabulous Kyoto Seishu Netsuke Art Museum starting in April 2013 (bear in mind the Museum is open for 4 short periods over the year. Please check the website).
