  1. Hello,

Your post on Furosen Muroka Nama Genshu really caught my interest, since, I've been looking for an online source that will ship to the U.S. I've found a couple of places that carry it:

    Here: http://www.oumi-jizake.com/furo/akinosake.htm

    and

    Here: http://www.uzj.jp/SHOP/SF0067.html

But the first seems to be out of stock and the second appears not to ship here.

Do you know of any place I could order a bottle that would ship it overseas?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Your blog is great, one of my favorites.

    Thanks,

    Nate

  2. Hello odonata

Thank you for contributing to the Open Kyoto Kyoto Support Forum.

I called Mr Uehara this morning about your question. Unfortunately Furosen is not currently available in the U.S.

I just called http://www.oumi-jizake.com and the owner said that they do not ship abroad. I asked if he know of any sites that ship abroad and he said that he did not.

The thing with Nama Genshu is that it needs to be refrigerated.

I am very happy to hear that my site (that is KyotoFoodie, right?) is one of your favs! Thanks much for letting me know!!

  3. Wow you did much more than I expected, thank you very much for trying.

It was my hope that refrigeration was not necessary for a sealed bottle, I can see how
it would be difficult, perhaps some other time, some other way.

Yes - KyotoFoodie though I do also have the RSS for the Diary and Taste Spotting as well.

The level of detail and the coverage of subjects (the making of Nukazuke/Nukadoko from scratch for instance) is very much appreciated and is not something easily found in English, all the more valuable.

    Thank you again.
