Kyoto Rainy Season without Rain 2012

Greetings from Kyoto

It should be raining a lot in Kyoto now as this time of year is the rainy season. However, this spring and summer there has been almost no rain. It finally poured rain last night, at long last. I think it has been 5 weeks since we had a real rain. The Kamo River was barely flowing and was soon to be more like large puddles than a river. The last two weeks or so, the water is so low that the backs of the carp stick out of the water in many places as they swim. That sight made me feel like we have sharks in Kyoto now. But, the fish probably aren’t so amused.
