Omamori

Greetings from Kyoto

Omamori is the word for talisman or amulet in Japan. Omamori are sold at most every temple and shrine in Japan. Recently, I have been invited to design some new and stylish ones for a company in Kyoto that is a purveyor of them to the temples and shrines. It is hard to believe that I, a ‘gaijin’ have been invited to participate in the design and development of these most Japanese things. I have started out making some prototypes.
