Unagi Eel Shop in Sanjo Arcade

Greetings from Kyoto

I don’t often go through this arcade but it was raining today. The Sanjokai Shotengai arcade must be the longest in all of Kyoto, running between Horikawa and Senbon streets. They were grilling unagi eel over charcoal as I passed by this shop. The smoke and smell of the oily grilled eel was too much. I stopped and took a few snapshots. As I was on my way to a meeting I couldn’t really bring a fresh grilled eel with me, so no unagi for my dinner tonight!
