The Kyoto Costume Museum (風俗博物館) was closed for a year and it reopens on April 1, 2012. I got a peek today as the staff was making the final preparations to reopen. The museum is on the 5th floor of the Izutsu Hoiten Building (a company that sells Buddhist priest robes), across the street from Nishihonganji Temple. Admission is 500 yen and is definitely worth a visit if you are interested in seeing Kyoto court life from centuries past — all displayed in miniature!
